Word & Spirit

We are a Word and Spirit fellowship;

 100% dependant on the Word of God for our direction, practice and teaching &100% dependant upon the Holy Spirit for his gifting, enabling and empowering.

 

We expect God to speak to us through his living word, the Bible, and we expect him to speak to us by the Holy Spirit. We seek to make opportunity for him to do so in both ways as we gather.

Discipleship

​

Discipleship is at the heart of all that we do and practice;

At our heart is a desire to live in deep close relationship with God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, in response to the Great Commandment to love the Lord our God with all our heart and with all our soul and with all our strength. (Deuteronomy 6:5)

 

We also seek to live in obedience to the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20) to go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything we have been commanded through Scripture.

Baptism

​

In response to this we practice baptism by immersion, as part of a person’s journey of faith in Jesus and becoming his disciple, expecting that as we baptise them and pray for them to be filled with the Holy Spirit that he will come to minister, equip, and enable disciples in their walk and relationship with God. (Acts 2:36-39)

Communion

​

We share regularly in communion (breaking of bread), remembering the sacrifice of Jesus on our behalf, and feeding on him as we eat of the bread and drink from the cup (1 Corinthians 11:23-26)

Fellowship

​

We share fellowship with other Christians and churches, locally via Tamworth Christian Churches and we are in friendship with the All Nations Movement, led by Steve Uppal.
